Fusion tower above the rest in Portsmouth
Millgate House is a prominent figure in the Portsmouth skyline, with 76 flats over 21 floors and reaching a height of 57m it can be seen from most places across the city.
The building was constructed in 1962 and has been home to hundreds of Portsmouth residents since its construction.
at the beginning of 2022 a project got underway that saw the lighting and fire alarm systems within the building have a major overhaul.
The original fire alarm only protected the ground floor area so the council designed a strategy for a new system to be installed that would cover the all 21 floors, the communal area, the roof area, lift shafts and plant deck.
Fusion are very pleased to have been awarded this project by a local Portsmouth City Council contractor and have been working alongside members of the council in delivering the new system.
The new system uses the very latest industry technology, Apollo Soteria smoke / heat detection with two Advanced MX5000 series control panels positioned on the ground floor and 10th floors.
The project is very near completion now and we have thoroughly enjoyed this challenging job - the views from the top have been stunning.
